Family Trophies I.+II., Video 3 Min./10 Min. Photographs that were made in private practice are gathered together in big photolabs. During the process of developing films to photomaterial, they are joined together and form an endless loop, that sluiced through developing liquids and through drying and cutting machines. Peoples private photographs are ranked, although actually they do not have any relation to each other. However still, there is the same mode of visioning. The photographs seem to come out of only one big memory machine. Again and again the same picture return, taken by independent individuals - a collective perception of the world. In the photolab, cutting machines are the last station pictures have to pass. The video camera is directed towards a photo belt - a section is selected. Pictures rush past high speed, but somehow the spectator is still able to sense, what these fragments actually mean to reveal. Finally, the belt stops at one random shot. The series of several distinct pictures transform into a film strip.
